Terminator Brain Chip - As Presented To Miles Dyson Upon Completion of The Neural Net Project
This is what I am thinking for the top of the box. Perhaps as an inlay. I think its rather pretty.
A guy out of the Netherlands built this for me, but has only given me two, so I am restricted to two brains. At least two with boxes.
I ended up blackening the etched portion of the schematic.

Here is a movie capture of the brain being manipulated by Sara Conner. Notice John Conner's cheesy watch. They are pulling a brain chip out of an invaluable terminator using a needle nose pliers??? I can only assume that future technology has a conformal coating which resists needle nose pliers.
Surprising lack of gore considering they just cut opened Ahnold's skull.

I get asked all the time about how I approach a project such as this brain, so I scanned my detailed engineering drawings which I created using a commercial version of a Computer Aided Design (CAD) package. This drawing includes a full change list which is nice so I can chronicle my progress.
The large variety of fonts are nice as well.
A drawing such as this is also useful as I can tear off little pieces of the paper and use them to determine the proximity of the cutter to the edge of the workpiece when precision is not required. My mill is accurate to 5 ten thousandths of an inch, so if I really need to be accurate, a shred of paper is not good enough. But... by definition - good enough is good enough.

Here is my detailed engineering drawing of the box for the brain, and the box itself. The blue things are rubber bands which I use a lot as clamps on small projects. The top is set in a dado and the bottom is let into a groove around the base. Both were glued in place when I glued up the box.
In a few hours, I will cut the box in half around the middle to form the base and lid. Then the hinges will be let into mortises on the back of the box.
I'm thinking of lining the interior in black cloth although I have some nice dark brown leather hanging around. Not sure...

While waiting for the glue to dry, I made a small plate to hold the decorative brain design. The wood is some tropical hardwood I had about, perhaps rosewood.
It's time to work up a presentation plaque. I am thinking bronze again.
The bottom photo is of... the bottom, which is a copper sheet.
